Industrial Art and Design's workshop and offices are located at the Argo House at 529, 25th Street in downtown Ogden, UT. The building is an eclectically styled late 19th century Victorian, with large additions on the south and west sides that were added in the early 20th century.
The unique combination of historic architecture and utilitarian commercial space represents a pleasing union of form and function that is a metaphoric echo of the planned use of the property. This property boasts an ideal arrangement, of relevant commercial frontage, office space and design studios including a large 1700 square foot artist workshop.
Perfectly located at the gateway to Ogden's new arts district the mission of this project is to serve Ogden's creative community with a centrally located hub for experienced designers and artist to collaborate, work and publicly display design. The project works to achieve the mission of the mission of the creative corridor and the city’s arts master plan, acting as a catalytic driver for the growth of Ogden’s art and design community.
The Argo House strives to integrate the differing spaces to provide a comprehensive solution to commercial artists and designers. We will offer executive office suites designed around the unique needs of creative entrepreneurs, shared conference rooms, a well equipped shared workshop. A small Cafe’ will serve both the users of the space and the immediately surrounding neighborhood, offering an important public interface between our members and the general community. Throughout the landscape and through the shared public spaces of the building we also hope to display the creative works of our members.
The project is located along a major transit corridor and future BRT line and is designed to serve the local community and is easily accessible via walking/biking.
